Learning Pattern Design
with Washi Tapes
For this project I had three goals:
- Get better at creating patterns
- Warm up my color theory muscles
- Have some fun!
This personal project—that I absolutely love—was inspired by the amazing Esther Nariyoshi!
I started by scouting for cute references in Carousell. I found designs I love from @shopkawaiiaeriel, @kittydeclutters, and @declutter.jo!
Then I used vector shapes, distort & transform effects, the pen tool, and manipulated anchor points to create the patterns.
